In the past I have conducted Spellweaver cost analysis where I have concluded ~$600 to complete the existing playset in this game.  This was significantly higher than the gold standard i.e. Magic the Gathering where usually $400 is sufficient to complete a playset of given set.   However, that analysis had a major flaw/shortcoming as I did not include two important pieces of information, which are the existence of premium pack and subscription package.  These two pieces will reduce the actual cost to complete playset for the game significantly.  So now let’s take a look at real cost analysis of the game with these two pieces!

*UPDATE: 3/29/2016 Normal Pack approach has been added as part of calculation.

Free Range Games kindly provided me an early access key, which is available for anyone to purchase for $9.99 on Steam.  So I have got a chance to play the actual game for the first time.  It is indeed very early built and what I can do in the game is [very] limited considering what this game will be. In a big picture, I categorize this game similar to the Hearthstone; however, there are significant enough difference in its game play.  But its quality certainly matches up with Hearthstone.  The game is soon to enter the open beta status.  This is one game all dCCG fan must at least try once.

Set 4 spoiler has started.  We now know the Set 4 is called Primal Dawn.  New keyword “Empower” is explained with several cards with the ability.  What makes HEX different from other dTCG/dCCG is the fact it truly utilizing the digital space and making some game mechanics that were not possible on other games, which is mainly due to the restriction of physical realm.  Empower is no exception here and shows very digital nature of the power.
