HEX is fun.  It had the most successful dTCG funding on the kickstarter by far.  However, the direction Cryptozoic appears to be going right now may appear slightly different from some of players originally believed to be the strength of this game.  If you are one of those, and truly feeling like the game is not providing what you originally believed in, Cryptozoic understands that, and will give us the full refund.

Here comes the weekly update.  It seems like every week so far we have been seeing new card added to the game, which is great.  This update is no exception, and in fact several of cards have interesting mechanics including some that we have never seen before.  However, the update also included another huge controversial change.

An month ago when Cryptozoic announced the latest patch included change to the chain mechanics where event triggered ability no longer goes into the chain incited quite controversy, especially ones against the changes.  I for one personally felt somewhat against the change as well, mainly not because of the direct impact to what we have now but rather losing flexibility for the future.  If you are interested regarding to this topic back when this was originally introduced, you can check here.  However, the most recent update actually reverted part of the change.  So it’s time to take another look about this topic as this sort of change really affects the overall game’s design direction in the future.

Although recently so many dTCG/dCCG are successfully funded with rather what seemed to be high goal, it should not be a surprise for the game that has been out for couple years and raised $100k in the past to successfully meet its goal of $50k.  It is still impressive especially because there are so many competitions now. There are little over two days left, and it is likely to hit its first stretch goal.  If you are interested don’t miss the opportunity.

The year 2013 was certainly a big dTCG year.  The big 3 (Hearthstone, HEX, and Solforge) all became playable.  But that’s not all the story.  There were other great dTCGs.  Among them, personally Infinity Wars deserves the one of the top spot for its game’s potential.  I am glad to see the game continues to show its evolution because the game really has the potential.  December 13 will be another big step of Infinity Wars.
